PlayStation Disc Problems – Mechanical & Board-Level Issues
Disc problems on PlayStation consoles usually come from two places: the mechanical disc drive assembly itself, or the motherboard disc control circuit. We diagnose both, so you do not pay for the wrong repair.
Disc Drive Replacement & Calibration
Typical disc drive symptoms:
- Console does not pull in the disc, or ejects it immediately
- Loud grinding or clicking noises from the drive
- Games taking a very long time to load
- “Insert Disc” or “Unrecognized Disc” messages
We replace worn or defective disc drive assemblies with high-quality parts, transfer any required logic boards, and perform alignment checks so the console can read discs reliably again.
Motherboard Disc Circuit Repair
Sometimes the disc drive is healthy, but the disc control circuit on the motherboard is damaged. This can happen after power surges, liquid damage, or previous unsuccessful repairs.
- Disc drive powers on but is not detected properly
- Random “disc not read” errors even after drive replacement
- Visible damage or corrosion around disc-related chips or connectors
In these cases, we perform board-level diagnosis and repair, including component replacement and micro-soldering, to restore communication between the disc drive and the PlayStation motherboard.
To protect your new or repaired disc drive, always use clean, original game discs. Deeply scratched, cracked, or dirty discs can damage the laser and internal mechanics of the drive and are not covered by warranty.
This lifetime warranty covers part defects and workmanship defects on disc drive and related motherboard repairs only.

• Physical damage (drops, hits, console case damage, forced discs)
• Liquid damage, moisture, corrosion inside the console or drive
• Damage caused by severely scratched, cracked, or modified discs
