Charging IC / Tristar / U2 Repair
If your phone shows “not charging”, kills cables, or shuts off when a cable is connected, the problem can be on the charging IC, not just the charging port or the battery. We perform board-level IC replacement to restore stable charging.
Common Symptoms
When the Charging IC Is Suspect
- Phone does not charge or charges only in one position with known-good port and cable.
- “This accessory may not be supported” messages with factory Apple cable.
- Battery percentage jumps, phone restarts when cable is plugged in.
- Device connects / disconnects rapidly from the computer.
- History of car chargers, power banks, very cheap cables or liquid damage.
What We Do
- Measure charge current and USB data lines on a lab power supply.
- Check charging port, filters and surrounding components.
- Remove and replace the Tristar / Tigris / U2 or other model-specific IC.
- Microsoldering under microscope with proper temperature control.
- Final test with multiple cables and chargers before closing the device.
Continuing to use very low-quality chargers and cables can damage the new IC again. After the repair we always recommend using high-quality, certified accessories to keep your phone safe.
