Important OEM vs Aftermarket Back Glass Information
✔ OEM Apple Back Glass:
• OEM back glass includes the original Apple flash diffuser film, MagSafe magnetic ring, wireless charging film, and internal shielding layers.
• After replacement, Flashlight, MagSafe charging, wireless charging, and all alignment sensors continue working exactly like the original.
• OEM Apple glass is made of high-grade layered material.
When dropped, it shatters into many small “spark-like” pieces — an indication of its higher-quality safety glass and premium lamination.
✔ Aftermarket Back Glass:
• Aftermarket back glass includes the MagSafe ring and wireless coil, but the magnet layout is NOT identical to Apple OEM.
• MagSafe accessories such as wallets, PopSockets, card holders, and MagSafe chargers still work —
however, the magnetic strength is not as strong as the original.
• Aftermarket glass does not use the same multi-layer safety film.
When dropped, it breaks into larger, sharper pieces and these can detach from the frame.
• This is due to the lower-grade inner film and weaker lamination quality.
